ReelData AI builds camera hardware and AI-powered software for aquaculture. We’re a small, fast-moving team where our people work close to the hardware, software, and real-world outcomes of land-based aquaculture.

We are hiring a Field Deployment Specialist to help turn approved ReelAppetite designs into reliable, repeatable installations at customer sites. This role blends site assessment, practical mechanical design, fabrication coordination, installation, commissioning, and documentation.

This is an in-person role working from our Dartmouth office and travelling to aquaculture facilities internationally, primarily in Europe. The current assumption is that there could be up to two international trips per quarter, typically one to two weeks each.

What you'll do
  • Assess customer sites and document measurements, constraints, risks, and installation requirements.
  • Adapt approved hardware designs for site-specific mounting, piping, lighting, networking, and equipment-placement needs.
  • Prepare and review drawings, bills of materials, shipping manifests, equipment lists, and installation plans.
  • Coordinate with fabricators, contractors, suppliers, customer teams, and local trades.
  • Lead or perform on-site installation and commissioning, and troubleshoot field issues with internal technical teams.
  • Improve reusable deployment designs, documentation, standards, and handover practices.
What you bring
  • Practical experience in field deployment, industrial installation, mechanical design, fabrication, manufacturing, or a related technical discipline.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and experience interpreting or creating drawings and bills of materials.
  • Working knowledge of CAD or mechanical design software.
  • Experience working with fabricators, machine shops, contractors, suppliers, or industrial trades.
  • Experience installing, commissioning, or troubleshooting equipment, with working knowledge of electrical access, networking, and cable routing.
  • A valid driver's licence and passport, and the ability to travel internationally for one to two weeks at a time.
  • Legal entitlement to work in Canada.
Nice to have

Experience in aquaculture, food production, industrial automation, machine vision, camera systems, marine environments, weldments, or sheet-metal design is helpful, but not required.

Compensation and benefits

The expected salary range for this role is $115,000 - $140,000 CAD. ReelData AI also offers employer-paid group benefits, an RRSP matching program, a health and wellness allowance, and an office equipment allowance.

Why ReelData

At ReelData AI, you’ll be part of a small team with real ownership. We move quickly, work collaboratively, and stay close to the systems we build. This role is a strong fit for someone who likes solving practical problems, working across disciplines, and making production systems more reliable over time.

If this role feels like a strong match, even if you don’t check every box, we’d still like to hear from you.
